The pop of the cork and the cling of the glasses We toast to the future and we drink to the past It might not be easy but nevertheless These are the best days (of our lives)

For my last dinner in Manila I met up with my friends one more time. It will be a while til I’ll get to see my friends again.

Block ED

We had dinner at North Park (because I said so) and drinks (and more food) at Agave. My favorite boys, all three are funny when drunk, not that they’re not, sober.

And had to take a picture of this cup of heaven… When I first tried Yoh Froz I really hated it so I was a bit hesitant to try, but I glad I gave it a second chance (1 or 2 years after), it was sooo good.

When Life Gives You Lemons

The previous week was a whirlwind. I’ve been missing my family and friends and it was nice to be at home even for just a while. Plus Emirates’ promo fare made it even better. It’s as if everything was going great (well if you look at it, it went really well).

Straight from the airport I met up with my friends for dinner and coffee.

Managed to convince my friends to take me to Tagaytay the next day, less than 6 hours after the dinner and coffee.
Appalled by the 300% increase in toll fee and horrible rain and state of the South Luzon Highway. Relieved to be in Tagaytay to eat warm Bulalo soup and coffee again after.

I was having appetite issues and eating problems for weeks and that didn’t stop me from eating this apple pie, which tasted so good, and will probably taste even better now since my appetite is back.

Sur Boracay

So I left for Boracay last June 15, and arrived yesterday without any hassles. One minor mishap when the person whom we thought took care of our transfer last Tuesday forgot to do so, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise because we saved some money.

During Day 1 there were five of us, Jen, Ron, Kristian, Ton and me. We got drunk on our first night that got us cursing at each other and probably waking up those chilling by the beach at Station 1.

This is our room view at Sur Boracay!

We enjoyed our stay at Sur Boracay.

Day 2, Jenny, April and Mark arrived and that afternoon we went to Yapak for Zorb (which I just found out is not a real Zorb site) but nonetheless we enjoyed it, everybody tried it and it was hella fun, probably won’t try it again though. Everybody was tired so we opted for some quite time by the beach and drank some beers/cocktails while watching the fire dancers.

Day 3, Jenny, Jen, April, Mark, Ton and Ron tried Reef Walking and Kristian and I stayed to soak up in the sun. In the afternoon we tried ATV the view in the mountain of Boracay is … amazing!

Day 4, after a very hearty buffet breakfast at the resort we’re staying at, Sur Boracay, we headed home.

Camayan Beach Resort

A couple of weeks ago my friends and I went to Subic since my bestfriend is in town.

I’ve been to Camayan Beach Resort before but didn’t stay there  for the night. I’m glad I did this time!

They have beachfront rooms and the hotel rooms are okay.

Here are a couple of things I like about Camayan Beach Resort

Camayan Beach Resort

  • The rooms are spacious, comfy and clean.
  • You can swim at night.
  • There are lifeguards. (There are lifeguards I promise!)

Camayan Beach Resort

  • You can go snorkeling. You can walk from the shore with your flippers on, like 5 steps, dip into the water and you see CORALS, and FISHES (Dory, Nemo… no urchins!)
  • KAYAK. You can kayak to the mangroves and enjoy wildlife. SERIOUSLY, it’s a bit tiring but it is FUN. If you’re lucky you get to see wild ducks, rays and other animals.

  •  You can dive, they have wrecks there.
  • Buffet Filipino breakfast, makes my mouth water.
